Introducing Shozo
Nishimura,
both the Club Caller and Chairman of Chiyoda Square Dance
Club.
It is currently the second largest club in Tokyo, Japan!

Shozo gave us the above impressive
picture
that was taken during its
26th year anniversary party.
As you
probably know, the 50th National Convention
was held in
Anaheim, California. Well, guess what!
Shozo, his lovely wife, Miko,
and about 25 square dancers
from Chiyoda SD Club traveled from Tokyo, Japan to California
to be part of this awesome event.
And they made a special stop over in San
Francisco
to attend a special hoedown that was arranged
by Bob Elling and hosted by the
SF Forty-Niners Square Dance
Club.
Bob, the multi-talented Caller of that Club was highly instrumental
in putting together that special Hoedown to welcome Shozo
and his group who
were on their way to
Anaheim.
Bob's lovely wife, Lois, even brought in
a group of exhibition contra dancers
that night.
Wow! What an affair to remember!

His name is Mr.
Iwata,
a gentle, soft-spoken, warm individual.
He was one of the six
Square Dance Callers
who entertained us on the night we danced at the
Chiyoda
Square Dance Club in Tokyo, Japan.
He picked us up from our hotel in
a taxi
and took us to the square dance club.
He did a
popular singing call
"Why Don't You Love Me Like You Used To Do?"
by Hank
Williams! Well, guess what!
Bob Elling knows that singing call as well.
So he made sure and "singing-called" it
at the SF Forty-Niners
special hoedown on June 23, 2001!
Chiyoda Squares could not thank him enough
for the good times and fun memories
we all made that night!

Dick and Lulu Robertson posed with Shozo Nishimura
and his lovely
wife, Miko, above.
It was taken at their square dance hall in Tokyo
when we visited their club
a few years back.
They are seasoned travelers and regular attendees
of the US
Square Dance National Conventions
as well as one of the popular Las Vegas annual
festivals.
Shozo is an avid golfer as well.
He was teaching easy A1
when we were in Tokyo.
We met again in Las Vegas and danced to our hearts
delight with Wade Driver, Bronc Wise,
and other square dance caller favorites.
Next was at the National Convention
in hot & humid San Antonio, Texas!
And once again, we
squared up with them in Anaheim.
